Opioid Awareness Day at the MN State Capitol

8:15 am – Health and Human Services Reform Committee

Rep. Dave Baker, R-Willmar, and other legislators will present bills – HF1134, HF1135, HF1137, and others – combatting opioid abuse to the House Health and Human Services Reform Committee.

11:00 am – “Opioid Reform Act” Press Conference

Capitol Press Conference Room – B971

Rep. Baker, Senator Chris Eaton, DFL-Brooklyn Park, Senator Julie Rosen, R-Vernon Center, Lt. Governor Tina Smith, and representatives with the Steve Rummler Hope Foundation will discuss Opioid Awareness Day on the Hill. Landmark legislation, the opioid stewardship bill (senate file 730, house file 1440) will hold opioid manufactures responsible for the opioid crisis in the state of Minnesota.

3:00 pm –Opioid Awareness Day on the Hill Rally

Capitol Rotunda

Legislators will join with affected families in the Rotunda to share the dangers of opioids and opioid abuse to raise public awareness. Distinguished speakers will address Minnesotans in the capitol rotunda.
