On September 11, the Steve Rummler Hope Foundation, in conjunction with the Minnesota Medical Association, kicked off the second year of the popular Pain, Opioid, and Addiction Lunch Lecture Series at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine.

Dr. David C. Thorson presented on prescribing opioids in a primary care setting. The 2013 recipient of the University of Minnesota Exceptional Community Faculty Teaching Award, Thorson practices at Entira Family Health Clinic in White Bear Lake.

Dr. Thorson’s talk was well received in the packed lecture room of second and third year medical students. Three more Addiction Lunch Lecture Series events are planned through the fall semester. All will be recorded and saved on the Minnesota Medical Association’s website and will be available for Continuing Medical Education credits free of charge to all medical practitioners in the U.S.

The Steve Rummler Hope Foundation is proud to sponsor these lectures and to be part of the creation of solutions to our nation’s opioid epidemic.
