Steve Rummler HOPE Network to Establish Naloxone Pickup Sites Across Minnesota

The Network is Seeking Organizations to Volunteer as Naloxone Access Points (NAPs)

MINNEAPOLIS (January 10, 2020) — The Steve Rummler HOPE Network (SRHN) has been entrusted by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) to expand their Overdose Prevention program in an effort to prevent opioid overdose related deaths. As part of their initiative, SRHN is working to establish naloxone pickup sites (Naloxone Access Points, or NAPs) and community overdose prevention trainers across the state of Minnesota.

SRHN will be focusing their efforts on areas identified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as high-risk or heavily impacted by the opioid crisis, opioid treatment service gaps, and those with high overlapping rates of suicide, overdose, and poverty. The counties included in this initiative are: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Washington (six of the seven-county metro), Becker, Beltrami, Benton, Blue Earth, Carlton, Cass, Clay, Clearwater, Crow Wing, Goodhue, Itasca, Mahnomen, McLeod, Mille Lacs, Nobles, Pine, Polk, Rice, Roseau, Sherburne, St. Louis, Stearns, and Wright.

SRHN is currently seeking organizations in the aforementioned counties to volunteer to stock naloxone and act as a pickup point for individuals who have been trained in naloxone administration. Any interested organizations or businesses can contact the Steve Rummler HOPE Network at (952) 943-3937, or overdoseprevention@rummlerHOPE.org.
