Alicia House joined our team on June 1, 2020 and we are so excited to have her onboard as the Executive Director of the Steve Rummler HOPE Network! For those in our network who haven’t had the opportunity to meet her yet, below is a short bio and Q&A:

Alicia found her passion working in opioid use disorder treatment in 2017. She has held a variety of positions as an Intake Director, Outreach Director and has managed sober living homes.

Prior to her responsibilities in the recovery field, she worked different leadership positions in medical device sales and at Dellwood Country Club. She specializes in building and maintaining relationships, outreach efforts, client care and marketing.

Alicia received her B.A. in English with an emphasis on composition, literature and cultural studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She enjoys volunteering for multiple animal rescue organizations; Feed My Starving Children and other local community efforts.

Q&A:

1. The mission of the Steve Rummler HOPE Network is to “heighten awareness of the disease of addiction as it relates to the physical and emotional burdens of chronic pain and to improve the associated care process.” What does this mean to you?

As we know, chronic pain has often become a difficult pathway to opioid use disorder. The mission to heighten awareness and to improve the associated care process surrounding chronic pain is why the SRHN exists. This mission reframes how we think, prioritize and execute change in the community. When we narrow in on this mission we are driven by our “why” everyday and never lose sight of our goals and those for which we hope to continue fighting.

2. What do you feel is SRHN’s role in fighting the opioid crisis?

The mission to improve the associated care process is all encompassing to combat the opioid epidemic. We have the responsibility to play a role in every facet from prevention, advocacy, education and recovery. SRHN will continue to determine where help is needed, being the voice for those who have been silenced and assisting in this fight any way we can.

3. What makes you most excited about joining SRHN? What is your vision for the organization?

The staff, volunteers and donors of the SRHN have been the leading change agent in the chronic pain and addiction community for years. The success of the SRHN in prescriber education, advocacy, and overdose prevention has saved many lives. I am truly honored to join this team. With the collaboration of the board and staff, the SRHN will continue bringing awareness and staving off the stigma of opioid use disorder. Together, we can begin tackling some of the many hurdles those facing the disease of addiction encounter every day.

4. What are some of your other passions? What do you do for fun?

Any time I am not working, I will utilize it to travel. I like to go all over the world and strive to see more every chance I get. When I am home I enjoy cooking, running, reading and spending time with friends and family. Fostering rescue dogs and volunteering continues to be a passion of mine for over 10 years. I live with my husband Jeff and hound named Edie.
