MDH Partners with EMS Regions to Provide No-Cost NARCAN for First Responders
The Minnesota Department of Health is partnering with the state’s eight EMS regions to provide no-cost nasal NARCAN and training for first responders. As preliminary data indicates a surge in opioid overdose deaths, it is critical that all first responders are equipped with this life-saving overdose reversal medication!
MDH is encouraging all fire, law enforcement and emergency medical service departments reach out to their regional coordinators for more information about securing free NARCAN, training and additional education. You can find current contact details for your region’s coordinator below:
Naloxone Available at No-Cost
to First Responders in Minnesota
Carrying naloxone is lifesaving and crucial as both overdoses and the availability of fentanyl and fentanyl analogs increase.
The Minnesota Department of Health has partnered with the EMS Regional Directors to distribute naloxone to first responders throughout the state.
The following are available for free, at no- cost to first responders:
– Naloxone doses
– Training
– Education
