Opioid overdose training offered to the public

Our Overdose Prevention Manager, Almarely Guerrero Sanchez, appeared on KTTC on November 11th, 2021 to talk about the importance of naloxone trainings.

KTTC’s interview covered the increased overdose rates seen in 2020 and how naloxone can reverse an overdose. Zumbro Valley Medical Society originally partnered with SRHN in the Rochester area to teach medical students how to use a Narcan kit. The organizations expanded their community outreach by offering two free public trainings on Thursday and Friday.

In her interview, Guerrero Sanchez said “[naloxone] provides hope for people. We want to make sure someone has [naloxone] available to prevent the loss of life.”
