Training sessions aim to create community network to prevent overdose deaths
Our Director of Programs, Allie Carey, appeared on KIMT 3 on November 11th, 2021 to talk about important naloxone trainings happening in Rochester.
KIMT 3 covered the importance of naloxone and narcan as overdose rates increased by 58% from 2019 to 2020. In her interview, Carey mentioned how overdoses are a public health issue that all communities and individuals need to be prepared to respond to, even if you don’t have someone in your life struggling with a substance use disorder.
Carey said “ultimately the more people who know about naloxone, the more people who have access to training and the access to naloxone itself the more of a safety net we’re building for our communities at large.”
