Happy National Volunteer Week!

April 18, 2022 By: SRHN

April is Global Volunteer Month and this week (April 17-23) is National Volunteer Week! Established in 1974 by Points of Light, National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, to build stronger communities and be a force that transforms the world. Volunteers are critical to the success of SRHN and we cannot thank our volunteers enough for their support!

A shoutout to RSVP (AmeriCorp Seniors) and King of Kings Lutheran Church of Woodbury for helping us assemble naloxone kits back in March. Together they assembled 200 kits! Volunteers are such a critical part of our work and we are so grateful for all of their hard work.

We also welcomed Standpoint to our office to assemble naloxone kits last week. Standpoint is a resource for free legal advice for domestic and sexual violence survivors in Minnesota. Standpoint is a neighboring organization in our office and we are so grateful for their contributions. Altogether they packed over 100 naloxone kits and over 400 fentanyl test strip kits. If you are interested in getting a group together to assemble kits in our office, whether it be staff members or family/friends, please contact our Overdose Prevention Manager, Maddy at maddy@rummlerHOPE.org.

We take new volunteers on an ongoing basis. If you’re interested in volunteering for SRHN: start by filling out this form, which will get you added to our volunteer email list and we’ll send updates with volunteer opportunities.
