The Intersection of HIV & SUD: Four Part Webinar Series

Our friends, Harm Reduction Sisters, Native American Community Clinic, Rainbow Health, Rural AIDS Action Network, and Turning Point, Inc are hosting a free, four-part webinar series: The Intersection of HIV and Substance Use Disorder: Enhancing the Care Continuum with Evidence-Based Practices. 

The webinars will be July 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th from 12 – 3pm.

The aim of these webinars is to provide community members, social workers, counselors, clinicians, and administrators with enhanced awareness, knowledge, and skills toward the elimination of health inequities and improved patient experience of care. CEU and CME credits are available to participants.

Session one will begin with the basics of understanding HIV, HIV testing and treatment, and the science of addiction, screening, and assessment. Session two will cover MAT for justice-involved individuals, mental health treatment and counseling, and stimulant use. Session three will cover HIV risk reduction, SUD harm reduction, ethical and legal issues, funding and policy considerations, and HIV and SUD stigma. The fourth and final session will address cultural, racial, and sexual identities, HIV positivity, pregnancy, and SUD, and accessing, obtaining, and integrating services for individuals with HIV and SUD in Minnesota.
