Overdose Awareness at the Minnesota State Fair

August 19, 2022 By: SRHN

The countdown to the Great Minnesota Get Together has begun! Steve Rummler HOPE Network is excited to announce that we will be at the Minnesota State Fair August 29-31. We’ll be hosting a table in the Health Fair 11 building (corner of Cooper St. & Dan Patch Ave). Our team will be handing out information, resources, and merch!

August 31st is a special day for our community: International Overdose Awareness Day. Initiated in 2001, International Overdose Awareness Day aims to honor the lives lost to overdose, reduce the stigma associated with substance use, and acknowledge the grief many family and friends experience. It is also an opportunity to educate people that overdose death is preventable and raise awareness about the use of naloxone.

We are so grateful to be spending Overdose Awareness Day at the MN State Fair, raising awareness of the opioid crisis and educating more Minnesotans on available resources like naloxone, fentanyl test strips, and other harm reduction strategies to prevent fatal overdoses.

Stop by to say hello, grab some SRHN merch, and check out our resources. We hope to see you there!
