Drug Overdose Awareness Day offers reflection after Minnesota sees record deaths in 2020
Our Executive Director, Alicia House, appeared on Fox 9 with our partners at Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge on August 30th, 2021 to demonstrate how to administer naloxone. The interview highlighted the efforts of Overdose Awareness Day: a day to honor loved ones lost to overdose and take action to prevent address overdoses.
From 2019 to 2020, opioid overdoses increased 58% in Minnesota. Naloxone is the medication that can reverse an overdose and save a life. During her interview with Fox 9, House highlighted how easy it is to administer naloxone, saying, “everyone can do it, absolutely. And everyone should know how to do it to save a life.”
