Steve Rummler HOPE Network provides educational programming designed to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding substance use disorders, overdose prevention and harm reduction strategies.

Our community-focused content empowers individuals with knowledge to foster meaningful conversations, promote safety, and build awareness of available resources.

Presentations

Steve Rummler HOPE Network offers in-person and virtual presentations on the topics of Fentanyl & Harm Reduction and Stigma & Substance Use. Each presentation runs about 60 minutes and the content is relevant for both community and professional audiences.

Stigma and Substance Use

Stigma surrounding substance use disorder and seeking help can present barriers on the pathway to treatment and recovery.

Fentanyl and Harm Reduction

This presentation covers current statistics and trends of the evolving overdose crisis, synthetic opioids and illicitly manufactured fentanyl, common myths of fentanyl vs fact, fentanyl test strips, principles of harm reduction, safer use strategies, and common myths of harm reduction vs fact.

Professional Education

We support professionals across the recovery, harm reduction, and mental health fields; recognizing that everyone has a role in ending the overdose crisis. This includes the essential contributions of clinicians, pharmacists, and community health workers in providing high-quality, evidence-based care for those impacted by substance use disorder.

Our full overdose response training (live webinar or in-person) fulfills one (1) credit hour for the following groups:

  • Alcohol and Drug Counselors (ADC-MN, ADCR-MN)
  • Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselors (AADCR-MN)
  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADC)
  • Clinical Supervisors (CCSR)
  • Co-Occurring Disorder Professionals (CCDP, CCDP-D)
  • Criminal Justice Professionals (CCJP)
  • Nurses* (RN, APRN, LPN)
  • Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPC, LPCC)
  • Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS, CPRSR)
  • Prevention Professionals (CPP, CPPA, CPPR)
  • Social Workers (LICSW)

*This training has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing continuing education requirements. However, the nurse is responsible for determining whether this activity meets the requirements for acceptable continuing education.

Opioid Use Disorder Care: The Nursing Perspective

Steve Rummler HOPE Network and Bethel University partnered to create a comprehensive curriculum on Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) for nurses and nursing students. This 3 hour course provides an in-depth education into the identification, assessment, management and support of patients with OUD.

This is a fully-on demand curriculum, designed to be completed at your own pace. In addition to the video content, participants will engage with the material using case studies and assessments.
