Remembering Bill Rummler

March 17, 2026 By: Allie Carey

William (Bill) Robert Rummler, 85, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, in Dover, New Hampshire, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 10, 1940, in Milwaukee, WI, Bill grew up near Lake Michigan, where he developed a lifelong love of the outdoors. He graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1958 and earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1962. While at Madison, he met the love of his life, Judith (Judy) Bridgman. They married on June 20, 1964, beginning a devoted partnership of more than 60 years.

After college, Bill traveled through Europe, igniting a passion for adventure that eventually took him to more than 70 countries. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and began his career at IBM in Chicago. In 1975, after relocating to Minnesota, he founded Centron Computer Corporation (later Centron DPL), building it into a successful company with more than 100 employees before selling it in 1986.

After retiring at age 51, Bill divided his time between Edina, Minnesota and Bonita Springs, Florida, and devoted himself to family, travel, and community service. He served on the board of the Friends of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and later led Habitat for Humanity efforts in Lee County, Florida.

Following the tragic loss of his son Stephen (Steve) in 2011, Bill and Judy created the Steve Rummler HOPE Network, a Minnesota nonprofit, that continues to raise awareness about opioid addiction and save lives.

Bill loved sailing, skiing, and time at the lake, but most of all he cherished time with his family.

He will be remembered for his generosity, humor, resilience, and deep love for his family. If you would like to read his obituary or send a message to his family, please visit the following link:
