About the Study

Researchers at the University of Minnesota are seeking participants for a research study exploring how technology can better support people in recognizing and responding to potential overdoses. The findings will help inform the design of practical, respectful, and effective overdose response technologies.

The study is open to individuals who:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Have an interest in overdose intervention
  • Are able to speak and write English

Participation involves a single 65–80 minute session. During the session, participants will:

  • Complete a brief background questionnaire
  • Review simulated overdose-response scenarios using breathing-rate visualizations
  • Complete short questionnaires about their experience
  • Participate in an interview about their decision-making process

Participants will receive a $20 gift card as a thank-you for their time.
